Vase with Carnations, painted in Paris in the summer of 1886 and now in the Detroit Institute of Arts. Against a dark ground, red, white and pink carnations crowd a dark vase, with a feathery spray of green rising at upper right. This reproduction has a strong orange cast; in the painting the flowers are mainly red, white and pink.
