Loom with Weaver meaning and analysis

Loom with Weaver belongs to the site node The Weavers. That node places the work inside Van Gogh's letters, places and changing painterly abilities rather than isolating it as a single image.

Its strongest period signal is Van Gogh Nuenen Period.

Technically, the page connects this work to Van Gogh Oil on Canvas , Van Gogh Brushstroke Analysis . The related map below keeps those paths explicit for readers and search engines.

The whole loom, seen straight on, fills the canvas; the weaver sits inside its frame working the threads, with an oil lamp hanging at the upper right against a pale wall. At the end of April 1884 Van Gogh wrote that he was doing “a fairly large painting of a weaver — the loom straight on from the front.” The editors of the letters consider this most probably that canvas.
